Contracted Full Stack Developer III (Senior)

Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking a qualified full-time Contracted Full Stack Developer III (Senior) for a new opportunity to support our government customer.

LOCATION: Charlottesville, VA

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Full Stack Developer III (Senior) provides ongoing support for Federal Government client. They will be a core builder on the engineering team, writing production code that real users depend on every day. You will collaborate directly with analysts, end users, and government stakeholders to turn requirements into working software โ€” and you will have the autonomy to own features end to end.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with users to elaborate on system requirements and participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Design, code, test, and troubleshoot front-end and back-end software.
  • Develop and implement APIs and web services; query and manage relational and non-relational data stores (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch).
  • Design and automate ETL processes.
  • Implement containerization and prepare application builds for deployment across classified environments.
  • Support system documentation to sustain the platform's accreditation and operational readiness.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5+ years of full-stack developer experience demonstrating proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React) and backend languages (Java, Python, Node.js).
  • Demonstrated experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS or AWS GovCloud, with hands-on Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and infrastructure-as-code.

CLEARANCE Active TS/SCI

CERTIFICATION Oracle Certified Java Programmer I or equivalent. Security+ CE IAT Level II or III

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field (four additional years of specialized experience may substitute).

HOURS OF OPERATION The worksite location will be performed predominantly at the Government offices during core business hours of 8:00 a.m. โ€“ 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on a regular 40 hour per week schedule unless otherwise required by the Manager.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sponsorship will not be a part of this contract. Must successfully complete a Blue Sky and customer background screening.
