Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Qualified candidates must be U.S

citizens with a TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph. Responsibilities: Lead innovative development and enhancement of radio frequency (RF) signal processing capabilities. Facilitate integration of new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors.

Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirement specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.

Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develop system architecture and design documentation.

Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.

Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents. Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components. Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.

Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations. Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and components. Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.

Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements. Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis. Required Qualifications: Exceptional integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to MTSI's core values.

14+ years of experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity (i.e., 20-100 personnel). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills; being able to work with personnel across multiple disciplines and organizations

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to work well independently and within a team. Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools.

Agile framework experience (i.e., Scrum, etc.). Qualifications Desired: Proficiency with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar SysML tools. Experience using tools like Python and SQL

Experience with cloud computing platforms like; Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS GovCloud. Experience with ETL frameworks. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

5+ years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Certifications Requirements: INCOSE ASEP or similar systems engineering certification desired. Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

The pay range for this position is $180,000 to $275,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
