SR ER Tech Opportunity

Northern Nevada Medical Center's tradition of providing quality healthcare in a comfortable, accessible environment means peace of mind for the thousands of patients served by the hospital each year. This SR ER Tech opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This individual will provide indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitor. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff.

Job duties/responsibilities include:

  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, coworkers, physicians and nursing director
  • Demonstrates competency in interpreting dysrhythmias
  • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations

Qualifications include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with one (1) year experience in an acute care hospital
  • Current AEMT Certification
  • NV Phlebotomy Certification preferred
  • Proof of medical terminology class upon hire or within 6 months of hire
  • Proof of Basic 16hr EKG class (within three months of hire), completes annual EKG competency
  • BLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
