Job description

Inventory Coordinator

Devil Mountain Wholesale Nursery is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to support accurate inventory management at the assigned nursery location.

This role performs inventory control, reporting, and data management functions to ensure inventory records remain accurate within the company's ERP and inventory systems. The Inventory Coordinator works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Yard teams to research discrepancies, resolve inventory issues, and support efficient order fulfillment throughout the nursery operation.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across departments to maintain accurate inventory records and support daily operations.

What You'll Do

  • Review inventory reports within company systems to monitor inventory accuracy
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies using established procedures
  • Assist Pulling and Loading teams when inventory issues arise during order fulfillment
  • Communicate with Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Yard staff to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory counts
  • Enter Build of Materials (BOM) and other data into ERP systems as needed
  • Support yard and office staff with Sales Orders, Transfer Orders, and Purchase Orders
  • Monitor inventory systems to ensure processes are functioning correctly
  • Assist with printing RF-SMART user login barcodes as requested by system administrators
  • Assist with plant container labeling when needed
  • Provide additional office and yard support tasks as assigned

What You Bring

Required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both office and yard personnel

Preferred

  • Two or more years of office or administrative experience
  • Knowledge of plant nomenclature
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems

Work Environment & Expectations

This role is primarily performed in an office environment within an active nursery operation. Occasional time may be spent outdoors in the nursery yard to verify inventory or support operational needs.

Work conditions may include exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven ground surfaces, dust, plant material, and typical nursery conditions.

Physical requirements include:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods during the workday
  • Frequent typing and 10-key data entry
  • Use of hands and fingers for keyboarding and document handling
  • Occasional walking throughout the nursery yard to verify inventory
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally (approximately 20% of the time)
