Job description

Distribution Fulfillment Associate

Job Overview:

The Fulfillment Associate is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment while maintaining real time order and inventory accuracy within Cin7. This role will inspect, separate, and rotate products in an orderly and efficient manner without damaging, misplacing, or otherwise mishandling them. The ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy is of paramount importance, while ensuring materials are ready for shipment on time, in excellent condition, and in accordance with customer specification.

Directly Report To: Warehouse Manager

Job Responsibilities

· Retrieve products from warehouse shelves or storage areas based on pick lists generated in Cin7.

· Verify SKU numbers, quantities, and product descriptions before moving items to the packing area.

· Use handheld scanners or mobile devices linked to Cin7 to update order status in real time.

· Follow best practices for handling large or fragile items to prevent damage.

· Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure safe transit of items.

· Accurately pack products according to order requirements, including custom packaging for doors, frames, and hardware.

· Insert order documentation, manuals, or hardware kits when required.

· Weigh packages and apply shipping labels generated from Cin7 or integrated carrier systems.

· Update order status in Cin7 throughout the picking and packing process.

· Record any inventory shortages or discrepancies in Cin7 and notify management.

· Assist in maintaining accurate stock counts by performing spot checks during picking.

· Follow correct procedures for handling backorders or out-of-stock situations in Cin7.

· Double-check picked items against sales orders to ensure accuracy before shipment.

· Inspect products for visible damage, defects, or missing components prior to packing.

· Ensure that all outgoing orders meet company and customer quality standards.

· Follow all warehouse safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE.

· Keep packing and picking areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

· Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, shipping associates, and sales administrators to meet order deadlines.

· Communicate order issues, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments immediately.

· Support other warehouse functions as needed during peak workload periods.

Skills & Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 1–2 years of warehouse, fulfillment, or order-picking experience (distribution preferred).

· Experience using Cin7 or similar WMS/ERP systems preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret pick lists, packing slips, and shipping labels.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints.

· Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

· Basic computer literacy and ability to use handheld scanning devices.
