Summary

Responsible for supporting the City's fleet fueling operations by ensuring the availability, reliability, and compliance of fuel facilities and systems. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, appearance, and operational readiness of fleet fueling facilities, car wash areas, grounds and related equipment. Provides technical expertise in the operation of fueling infrastructure. Supports departmental fuel needs, maintains operational records, and promotes safe and efficient fuel management practices in accordance with City policies and regulatory requirements.

Salary Range: $19.37 - $24.96 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor fuel inventory levels, coordinate fuel deliveries, and maintain accurate fuel usage and inventory records.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs on fuel pumps, dispensers, hoses, nozzles, and related fueling equipment operations.

  • Maintain fuel management systems and investigate discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and unusual fuel usage.

  • Provide professional administrative assistance for the assigned program to internal/external customers and management.

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs with vendors and contractors as needed.

  • May monitor and manage customer records and collections for assigned program including registration, correspondence and fee collection, payments and extensions.

  • Maintain operational records, databases, and reports related to fuel consumption, inventory, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct routine inspections of fueling infrastructure and identify corrective actions needed to maintain operational readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • 2-years related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in fuel operations, fleet services, equipment maintenance, facility support, groundskeeping, inventory management, fuel system operations, or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Intermediate knowledge of program operations

  • Intermediate knowledge of business practices and procedures

  • Excellent skills in PC and systems application

  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment

  • Ability to resolve complex customer issues

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
