This role requires vigilance, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all customers and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills to handle transactions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting light equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to handling flammable liquids and operating fuel dispensing equipment.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the retail trade sector and pass any required background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in first aid or emergency response.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to fuel handling and spill response.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with minor equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and electronic payment processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with fueling their vehicles promptly and safely, ensuring correct fuel types and quantities are dispensed.
  • Operate fuel pumps and payment terminals accurately, processing cash or card transactions efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with store staff and cashiers via 2-way radio to authorize and operate the pumps.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the fueling area, including removing litter and checking for hazards.
  • Promptly contain and clean-up any overfills and spills using approved clean-up protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fuel pumps and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents, spills, and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring fuel stock levels and assisting with deliveries or restocking as required.

Skills:
