Job description

Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:

  • Vehicle instrumentation w/proprietary and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment of Toyota & competitor vehicles.
  • Data acquisition & compilation including vehicle data, station performance data, etc.
  • Participate in and support of on-road vehicle evaluations, hydrogen station testing, etc. - including overnight trips.
  • Participate in and support chassis dynamometer testing including vehicle set-up & driving on the dyno.
  • Vehicle parts ordering & inventory management.
  • Troubleshoot & repair vehicle mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance of Fuel Cell vehicles and/or coordinate w/dealerships to schedule associated service.
  • Schedule/coordinate/support driver group to ensure schedules, vehicles, etc. meet expectations of the overall test program.
  • Support driver group safety incident investigations when necessary.
  • Issue daily, weekly and/or periodic general and technical reports where necessary.
  • Some overtime (average: 1-hour per day) and travel (~10%) is expected

Job Requirements:

  • Skills/Experience- Four (4) years licensed driving experience. Minimum 3-Years Dealership Experience (including electrical diagnosis experience). Experience in diagnoses & repair Of Hybrid / Electric vehicles is a plus. Proficient w/Windows, email, MS Word. Good experience w/Excel, macros knowledge a plus. Completion of computer aptitude test demonstrating experience level. Strong experience driving an M/T vehicle. Strong understanding of electrical systems including vehicle electrical diagnosis & repair. Works well independently, without direct supervision. Capable of adapting to a continuously changing work environment. Must possess certified driving record(s) from state(s) of residence during the previous 60-month period, with no moving violations or at fault accidents in the last 3 years. Driving record can be no more than 15 days old. Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures. Education- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to drive a manual transmission proficiently, as well as an automatic transmission. Ability to pass Middle Class Driver Training at the TOYOTA Arizona Proving Ground - in an M/T vehicle. A/C Certification (MACS or EPA). Hybrid Or Electric Vehicle Certification is a plus. Physical Requirements- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job requires sitting standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis. Must be flexible and available to work overtime, and hours outside of normal demands, including weekends and Holidays. Ability to pass Drug Screen, Physical, background check, pre-employment written and driving tests. Must be eligible to work in the US
  • Minimum 5-Years Dealership Experience
  • Experience in diagnoses & repair of Hybrid/Electric Vehicles.
  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle Certification through an OEM service program.
  • Hydrogen Fuel Cell experience is a plus
  • Good driving record - no accidents & no traffic violations within the last 3-years
  • Proficient w/Windows, email, MS Word (completion of computer aptitude test demonstrating experience level).
  • Good experience w/Excel (working level knowledge of formulas/macros is a plus) (completion of computer aptitude test demonstrating experience level)
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Experience driving an M/T vehicle is a plus
