Overview

American Fuels, LLC, a partner of H&K Group, Inc., is currently seeking a Fuel Driver with a CDL B and Haz Mat Certification. The employee will drive tank truck to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, or lubricating oil to customers. This position places an emphasis on reliability and attentiveness, as maintaining both a truck log and the trucks themselves are daily responsibilities that come along with the position. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and a strong communicator.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all work adhering to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Drives truck into position to load at filling rack
  • Opens valves or starts pumps to fill tank
  • Reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded
  • Drives truck to customer's premises
  • Connects hose to tank and opens valves
  • Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer
  • Attaches ground wire to truck
  • Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations and company policy
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
  • Loads and unloads truck
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
  • Performs daily pre and post trip of vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
  • Class A CDL with 1 year of commercial driving experience OR Class B CDL with 1 year of triaxle driving experience
  • Hazmat Certification
  • Manual transmission experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer Service and Teamwork
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 3 years of commercial driving experience
    • Strong preference for 3 years of triaxle driving experience
  • TWIC card
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Experience delivering commercial and residential fuel
  • MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to sit
