About the Position

Lockton is seeking a driven, client-focused professional to join our team as a Senior Account Executive within our Energy & C-Store practice. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to sophisticated clients, leading the strategy and execution of complex casualty programs and delivering innovative risk management solutions. Lockton is seeking a strategic, consultative Account Executive to lead complex Convenience Gas and Fuel Hauling client relationships. The Account Executive serves as the primary advisor to clients, leads renewal strategy and insurance placements, manages the service team, and coordinates resources across Lockton specialty practices. This role combines executive relationship management, technical insurance expertise, business consulting, data analytics, and team leadership to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

  • Serve as the strategic advisor and primary client contact for assigned accounts.
  • Lead the strategy, placement, and servicing of high-severity, loss-sensitive casualty programs, including large deductibles, SIRs, captives, and other risk-financing arrangements.
  • Develop long-term risk financing and insurance strategies aligned with client business objectives.
  • Strong skills working with high severity loss sensitive accounts.
  • Experience with Large Deductibles, Matching Limit Deductibles and SIRs (greater than $1M), Corridor Deductibles, Captives (Group and Single Parent), LPTs and Novations, Fronted Programs.
  • Experience negotiating collateral (LOC, trust, cash, and surety).
  • Lead Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers while coordinating claims, loss control, analytics, surety and specialty practices.
  • Present executive-level stewardship, renewal and strategic planning meetings.
  • Support acquisitions, lender requirements, contract review, due diligence and insurance program integration.
  • Develop carrier strategy, negotiate coverage enhancements and maintain senior market relationships.
  • Leverage analytics, cashflow modeling, benchmarking and portfolio data to improve client decisions and renewal outcomes.
  • Champion innovation through technology, AI-enabled tools and the Lockton Sage Intelligence Platform to enhance consulting and client experience.
  • Mentor and develop junior associates while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and support new business growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience in insurance industry
  • Minimum of two (7) years’ experience within the insurance industry (commercial experience preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of policy language, basic coverages and certificates of insurance
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of Associates/Clients
  • Excellent customer service skills (prior experience in a servicing and/or support role preferred)
  • Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
  • Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management and ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting, premium allocations and real estate ownership tu
  • Professional designations (CIC, CPCU, ARM, CRM or similar) preferred.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Legally able to work in the United States
