POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Fuel Distribution System Mechanic supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Fuel Distribution System Mechanic performs inspections, maintenance and repairs on fuel storage and fuel distribution systems on Tinker AFB. Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identifies and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution.
  • Inspects fuel receiving, storage and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges such as distribution lines, float gauges, piping valves, and pumps.
  • Lubricates and repacks valves.
  • Lubricates pumps, replaces gaskets and seals and corrects pumping equipment misalignment.
  • Cleans strainers, filters, and checks meters for correct delivery and calibration.
  • Overhauls system components such as pressure regulating valves and excess valves.
  • Disassembles, adjusts, aligns and calibrates gauges and meters or replaces them.
  • Remove and installs equipment such as filters and piping to modify system or repair and replace system component.
  • Cleans fuel tanks and distribution lines.
  • Removes corrosion and repaints surfaces and performs (UFC 460 Directive) inspections to CNG unit (natural gas dispenser). Maintains and repairs pressure vacuum vents.
  • Responsibility for maintaining electrical/electronic fuels systems and components (Jet fuel, gasoline, and diesel).
  • Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints sketches, diagrams, and specifications, verbal and written instructions.
  • Responsible for completing daily labor sheets documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.
  • Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
  • Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
  • Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
  • Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Accurate, timely, and cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Working harmoniously with customers and fellow co-workers.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all Alutiiq LLC related matters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting fuel service stations facilities and Bulk Distributions Fuel Systems.
  • Valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
  • Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology, applicable facility/infrastructure codes, DoD regulations, and company standards.
  • Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated working ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Five (5) years' experience in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting fuel service stations facilities and Bulk Distributions Fuel Systems.
  • Experience in Above Ground Storage Tanks (AST) and Underground Storage Tanks (UST), manual valves, automatic valves, pumps and Type 3 Constant Pressure Systems.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Military experience.
  • Previous experience working on a military installation.
  • Experience working on Tinker facilities.
  • This position may currently and/or in the future be required to obtain and retain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) and/or Personal Clearance (PCL) as required by law or contract. Position requires pre-employment physical and drug screening and background checks.

Pay rate: $37.21 per hour
