Job description

A Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the transportation, delivery, and distribution of various products to various locations while ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety regulations. This role is responsible for customer service, coordinating & managing logistics company-wide & overseeing drivers' day-to-day operations. This position will act as the point of contact for customers and/or sales while managing all aspects of the order from creation to completion. The Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role at Delta 360, in maintaining an efficient and compliant distribution system, ensuring that operations run smoothly, and that fuel/oil is delivered reliably to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate Fuel/Oil Deliveries:
    • Schedule and arrange fuel/oil deliveries to customers, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of products.
    • Liaise with suppliers, fuel terminals, and drivers to organize routes and ensure efficient fuel distribution.
  2. Inventory Management:
    • Track and monitor inventory levels at various storage sites or fueling stations.
    • Collaborate with the management team to ensure supply meets demand, preventing shortages or overstock.
  3. Ensure Compliance:
    • Adhere to environmental, safety, and transportation regulations regarding the handling and transportation of fuel.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials transportation and fuel storage.
    • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (HOS/ELOGS)
  4. Monitor Delivery Progress:
    • Track shipments and deliveries using GPS and logistics management software.
    • Communicate with drivers to resolve issues or delays promptly, ensuring that deliveries remain on schedule.
  5. Customer Service/Sales & Support:
    • Communicate with customers and/or sales to confirm orders, delivery windows, and any special requirements.
    • Provide support and resolve issues regarding fuel orders or deliveries.
  6. Record-Keeping & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of fuel/oil deliveries, inventory levels, and any discrepancies.
    • Assist in establishing & Evaluating driver performance
    • Recommend disciplinary decision and actions to management team
  7. Problem-Solving:
    • Address any logistical issues, such as delayed shipments, misrouted deliveries, or damaged goods.
    • Resolve transportation or delivery challenges quickly to minimize disruptions.

Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably within the fuel or related field.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with fuel/Oil products, transportation logistics, and related regulations.
