Job Description Summary
The Senior Classroom Technology Engineer serves as the senior technical lead for classroom and instructional technology support, ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of classroom A/V and presentation systems across the University.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of classroom A/V systems, instructional presentation technologies, classroom computers, and related peripherals.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used to maintain, repair, install, and troubleshoot audiovisual and classroom technology equipment.
  • Instructional methods and techniques, presentation technologies.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to remain calm, responsive, and professional in time-sensitive instructional settings.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and provide effective, user-friendly training and support to non-technical users.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple requests, prioritize operational needs, and adapt to changing classroom schedules and support demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of increasing responsibility in classroom technology support.
  • Minimum 3 years of classroom technology design.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory leadsership.

Duties
Specific Duties
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, firmware/software updates, and repairs on Audio/Visual and instructional technology systems to maximize reliability and extend equipment life. Maintain, upgrade, and repair classroom technology systems and related digital/analog audiovisual equipment in centrally supported instructional spaces. Respond to urgent classroom incidents and coordinate timely resolution within established SLAs to minimize disruption to instruction.
Percentage Of Time 50% Specific Duties
Serve as operational lead for the classroom technology support team by assigning and prioritizing work, coordinating shift schedules to ensure instructional-hour coverage, assisting with standard operating procedures, and supporting the onboarding and training of team members or student workers. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of classroom support procedures, operational standards, and service practices.
Percentage Of Time 10% Specific Duties
Provide training, instruction, and one-on-one support to faculty, staff, and other users on the operation and effective use of classroom technology systems. Offer classroom walkthroughs, usage guidance, and best-practice support for instructional technologies in support of teaching effectiveness. Develop and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting resources, and internal documentation related to classroom technology services.
Percentage Of Time 20% Specific Duties
Assist with classroom technology refreshes, equipment replacement planning, and lifecycle tracking for installed systems and devices. Support installation, setup, configuration, and testing of new classroom technology equipment, digital signage, and related instructional systems. Assist in evaluating classroom technology needs and recommending improvements that enhance reliability, usability, and support for instruction.
