Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Director, directly supports the BHT Managers and Regional BHT
Mangers with facility compliance, client care, and management workload. Trains new BHT Managers
and covers in the absence of a BHT Manager. Assists with ensuring licensure requirements are met on a
department level e.g., staff, client, and facility compliance. Can be utilized as a float person, in the event
a staff is needed to work a shift in an AGL facility. Assist on an as needed basis with conducting staffing,
assessments, screenings etc. Maintains confidentiality and performs any other job-related duties as
assigned by the Program Director. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.
Essential Functions:
Leadership
Always presents self in a professional manner. Works in a leadership position alongside AGL
leadership team. Leads by example - providing training to new hire Managers, in addition to
ongoing training and development to BHT Managers. Interacts with BHT staff and offers
constructive criticism and retraining as needed.
• Assists in problem solving with BHT Managers, BHTs and other staff members when
client care needs, schedules or staff require it
• Participates in the BHT Manager on call rotation as needed
• Works as Acting Manger when BHT Manager is absent, or position has been vacated
• Participates in weekly Admin Team Meeting and bi- weekly Management Meeting
• Participates in the Performance and Quality Improvement initiative at the agency and
program level by learning about the initiative, offering input, suggesting performance
improvements, and performing other PQI duties
Facility Compliance
In collaboration Regional Managers, BHT Managers, and Program Director, the Program
Support Specialist makes certain that AGL facilities are following licensure and AGL
regulations, rules, and protocols.
• Maintains education and training compliance for the department
• Completes quarterly facility Quality Assurance Checks
• Ensures and maintains compliance with client documentation and charting
• Monitors facilities for medication compliance and correct orders at the facilities
Client Services/Care Delivery
Assures client quality of care. Demonstrates and facilitates client groups, facility activities,
community reintegration, outings, and group/ client gatherings. Responsibilities include:
• Following the MMIC Scope of work
• Develops client activities that assist the client in gaining independence and working
towards the goal of eventual discharge
• Promotes the independence of all program clients in all activities.
• Promotes the dignity of clients by working with them in a positive, respectful, age
appropriate and courteous manner
• Assist clients with the self-administration of medication according to AllThrive 365
AGL Policy and Procedures
• Maintains confidentiality with all participant matters at all times
• Always monitors the safety and security of participants
• Escorts or accompany clients to medical appointments and other activities outside the
home and communicates provider information relayed in the appointments to the BHT Manager
BHT Duties
• Performs BHT duties as needed per open shifts at any of the AGL locations as assigned
Administrative Duties
• Completes weekly facility audits of client documentation
• Identifies staff who require retraining, provides training, and works with BHT Manager
on needed corrective action if staff performance dictates
Management Support
• Assists Clinical Program Managers with staffing’s
Miscellaneous
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Experience/Credentials/Knowledge/Understanding
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience providing behavioral health services
• Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification or ability to obtain
• Certified Caregiver Certificate from an approved Caregiver Training Program or ability to
obtain
• Valid AZ DL and acceptable MVR
• Have, maintain reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance
• Pass background check
• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Pass a TB test
• 21+ years old
• Able to read and communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English
• Able to utilize a computer for scheduling activities, documenting client notes, email
communication, use of Relias training system, uploading and finding documents on
SharePoint, and use of the department electronic health record
• Able to work independently, while collaborating with other team members
• Able to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Able to work flexible hours (available for any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime)
• This position is classified as Safety Sensitive
Preferred:
• 3+ years’ experience or training as a caregiver for people with mental illness, behavior
problems, or developmental disabilities.
• Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) by the Arizona State Board of Nursing
• Supervisory experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Demands
• Ability to frequently stand, see, hear, speak, and be physically flexible; occasionally sits walk, stoop,
