Job Summary
TheCoordinator of FSL and Student Recruitment will perform complex student andstudent organization advisement, leadership training, and on-campus eventcoordination and supervision. The coordinator will be a collaborative liaisonwith campus faculty/staff, advisors, fellow members of the FSL staff, StudentLife staff, and Division of Student Affairs staff. This position will assistthe FSL team in daily operations, the planning of Tri-Council programming,implementation of the office goals and strategic plans, execution of communitystandards and academic reporting, and other collaborations and officeresponsibilities as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Retention: Guide and oversee the individual chapter intake programs and recruitment efforts to ensure policy and procedural compliance. Ensure that students are informed about the benefits of membership and assist organizations with strategies to retain members.
- Advising and Support: Serves as the primary contact for all National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) chapters, chapter advisors, international organizations, chapter presidents, and collegiate members. Assists and advises NPHC with all council programming, training, and initiatives. Advises individual chapters on areas of particular concern. Collaborates with local graduate chapters to promote advocacy, investment, and dialogue among and between invested constituencies.
- Program Development and Implementation: Designs and executes educational programs and workshops that promote personal development, leadership, academic success, and social responsibility within the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community. Assists the Fraternity & Sorority Life team in the planning and execution of all leadership retreats, programs, and community-wide initiatives.
- Risk Management and Policy Compliance: Ensures that fraternities and sororities adhere to university policies, national organization standards, and legal requirements, including hazing prevention, alcohol management, and member safety.
- Community Building and Engagement: Fosters a positive relationship between fraternal organizations, the broader student body, and the local community through collaborative events, service opportunities, and initiatives that enhance the campus climate.
- Assessment and Reporting: Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of fraternity and sorority programs and activities, collecting data on membership trends, academic performance, and other key metrics to guide decision-making and improve the student experience.
- Performs other duties as assigned and will serve on various University committees as needed.
