Pay: $25.50 - $27.50 per hour

Founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A is the largest, family-owned quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the U.S., famous for its original chicken sandwich and signature hospitality. Renowned for quality food (closed Sundays) and exceptional service, it operates over 3,000 locations focused on community, freshness, and, "My Pleasure" service.


Your Role at Chick-fil-A:

The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for leading operational excellence by developing people, executing systems, and ensuring the Restaurant consistently delivers exceptional food, service, and hospitality. This role serves as a frontline operational leader, responsible for running shifts, coaching Team Members and Shift Leaders, analyzing operational performance, and ensuring the Restaurant’s systems operate effectively. Success in this role is measured not by what the Operations Manager personally accomplishes, but by how effectively the team performs under their leadership.


Your Impact and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Coaches and develops Team Members and Shift Leaders through real-time feedback, observation, and follow-up
  • Models and reinforces Chick-fil-A culture, hospitality standards, and professionalism
  • Intervenes quickly when behaviors or performance deviate from Restaurant standards
  • Helps train and onboard new Team Members through structured training and position certification
  • Builds a culture of accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement
  • Identifies high-potential Team Members and supports their development toward leadership roles
  • Supports the Restaurant Leadership Team in building a strong leadership pipeline


Operational Leadership

  • Leads and oversees shift execution to ensure food safety, service speed, accuracy, and hospitality standards are consistently met, Serves as Manager on Duty (MOD), making real-time decisions to support guest experience and operational flow
  • Deploys and redeploys Team Members throughout shifts based on business demand
  • Identifies operational bottlenecks and takes corrective action to maintain performance
  • Ensures all operational checklists, logs, and systems are completed accurately and consistently
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized Restaurant environment
  • Ensures the Restaurant is always guest-ready


Operational Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Analyzes operational performance, identifying trends related to service times, guest experience, labor, and productivity
  • Uses data and observation to identify root causes of operational issues
  • Develops and implements action plans to improve Restaurant performance
  • Ensures operational systems and procedures are followed consistently across all shifts
  • Recognizes breakdowns in systems and works with Restaurant Leadership to improve processes


Labor & Scheduling Management

  • Assists with creating and managing Team Member schedules to support business needs and labor targets
  • Adjusts staffing levels in real time based on sales volume and operational demands
  • Ensures the Restaurant is staffed appropriately during peak periods
  • Monitors labor performance and productivity throughout shifts
  • Supports leaders in balancing labor efficiency with guest experience and team wellbeing


Essential Functions:

The following requirements describe what is needed to successfully perform the role. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to support individuals with disabilities:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, twist, and reach overhead or below the waist
  • Move quickly, and stay on your feet throughout the shift
  • Take orders accurately, process payments efficiently, and communicate clearly
  • Work safely around hot cooking equipment, cleaning supplies, and common ingredients like oil and flour
  • Maintain a clean, safe Restaurant while following all food safety and company procedures
  • Occasionally drive on behalf of the Company for work-related purposes (e.g., picking up product for the Restaurant) when required by business needs (e.g., when a salaried leader is on a leave of absence or there is a role vacancy)


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of management experience, preferably in QSR or Fast Casual restaurant or in retail
  • Possess a valid, state-issued driver's license
  • ServeSafe Certified or ability to obtain ServeSafe Certification within first 90 days
  • Must complete all required Chick-fil-A Nanuet company training programs
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends and travel as needed for work-related functions and training
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
  • Self-driven, flexible, and energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to recognize and analyze problems, set goals, create and convert plans into action to solve problems
  • Knowledge and skills in staffing, scheduling, people and cost management
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
  • Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is highly preferred, with the ability to assist Spanish-speaking customers and staff seamlessly
  • Ability to commute to Nanuet, NY
