Why does the job exist?
The Senior Information Technologies (IT) Application SharePoint Developer will:
- Independently preform complex assignments requiring the creation or enhancement of applications, processes, and technical solutions;
- Contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle, including systems analysis, design, development, and implementation;
- Serve as a liaison between client partners, IT teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to support planning and delivery of software solutions.
How does it get done?
The Senior IT Application SharePoint Developer is responsible for:
- Proposing, conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and developing solutions for complex enterprise-level applications across multiple technical environments and business domains;
- Configuring, customizing, and maintaining COTS and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Oracle, AWS) while managing full system lifecycle activities including installation, backup, recovery, security, clustering, and utilization standards;
- Ensuring application security, validation, testing, and implementation while developing, executing, and documenting test plans and maintaining test environments;
- Analyzing existing systems through gap analysis and performance reviews to identify optimization opportunities and recommend feasible technical solutions;
- Collaborating closely with architects to align system designs with IT's long-term strategy and organizational goals;
- Leading or contributing to project planning activities by providing development estimates, operational requirements, and realistic timelines;
- Assessing client and business needs using structured requirements, gathering processes and analyzing operations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities;
- Creating and communicating business requirements, functional specifications, technical documentation, and system change records;
- Reviewing technical design specifications and providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior analysts and developers; serving as project or team lead when needed;
- Supporting continuity and disaster recovery planning by identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and assisting in disaster recovery plan development with service providers;
- Developing user guides, training materials, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and senior leadership;
- Participating in long-term strategic planning initiatives to support organizational growth and technology evolution.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate:
- Is SharePoint Certified and demonstrates strong expertise across SharePoint environments;
- Possesses foundational knowledge of HTML, XML, Flex, ASP, SQL, Java or C++, and REST/SOAP-based web services;
- Brings Five or more (5+) years of hands-on SharePoint development experience in both Online and On-Premise environments;
- Demonstrates proficiency in SPFx, React, TypeScript, REST APIs, and PnP tools;
- Shows strong experience with the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI;
- Demonstrates skill with modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery;
- Has experience designing scalable SharePoint solutions, including intranet architectures;
- Understands SharePoint security models, permission structures, and governance practices;
- Is familiar with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines;
- Communicates effectively and collaborates well with diverse technical and business teams;
- Holds relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Power Platform or Microsoft 365 Developer (preferred);
- Demonstrates ongoing personal and professional development.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and three (3) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certification.
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Travel statewide is required.
