Hybrid role: The candidate MUST reside in the Los Angeles area and be able to work onsite two days per week.
Position Overview
The Front End Web Developer is responsible for creating, enhancing, and deploying user-facing interfaces using modern front-end development tools and frameworks. This role involves building responsive, accessible, and high-quality web experiences while working in iterative, team-driven environments. The developer will also support continuous deployment processes and contribute to the improvement of existing websites and applications.
Responsibilities
  • Develop modern front-end solutions using HTML5, CSS3, and CSS pre-processors (e.g., LESS, SASS), as well as frameworks such as Bootstrap and Bourbon.
  • Implement responsive design best practices for optimized experiences across devices and screen sizes.
  • Build JavaScript components using current standards (strict mode, ES modules) and libraries/frameworks such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Ember.js, and D3.
  • Consume and integrate RESTful APIs into front-end applications.
  • Work within Agile environments (Scrum, Lean) and participate in routine deployment cycles.
  • Utilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Ensure Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance across digital content.
  • Research and adopt new tools, frameworks, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Convert static images into functional web layouts.
  • Build views/templates within full-stack frameworks such as Rails, Express, or Django.
  • Provide troubleshooting and guidance to clients and internal teams on front-end issues.

Required Skills
  • Experience working on micro-sites, landing pages, and templates.
  • Ability to present HTML/CSS mockups across desktop and mobile.
  • Skilled in resolving front-end bugs and improving existing HTML prototypes.

  • Experience using browser ADA accessibility tools (e.g., Siteimprove) and related frameworks.
  • Knowledge of consuming RESTful APIs.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in front-end web development using modern tools, techniques, and frameworks.

Preferred Experience
  • 4 years of experience in front-end development including testing and hands-on accessibility remediation aligned with WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field.
  • Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
