Job description

Atlas Disposal Industries is a respected, independently owned waste management company with over 25 years of experience serving communities across California, Utah, and Arizona. Known for its commitment to environmental responsibility and community support, Atlas Disposal offers a dynamic and supportive workplace where employees are valued. As a Front Load Driver, you will be essential in delivering safe and efficient waste, recycling, and compost collection services. This role is ideal for individuals who are safety-conscious, dependable, and enjoy working independently while being part of a team dedicated to environmental stewardship and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy-duty front load trucks safely to collect waste, recycling, and compost containers along assigned routes.
  • Navigate through high-traffic areas, congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and locations with limited overhead clearance.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).
  • Follow assigned routes, service containers, ensure proper placement, and maintain cleanliness at service locations.
  • Use a computerized mobile tablet to track route progress, complete stops, and enter relevant notes and information.
  • Promptly report unsafe situations, service issues, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to Supervisor or Dispatch.
  • Participate in required training programs, briefings, and meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with Dispatch and Supervisors to improve route efficiency and implement best practices.
  • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs and ensure timely service completion.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving experience.
  • Experience operating vehicles in congested parking lots and roadways.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to pass regular drug screenings, pre-employment physical, and background checks.
Compensation

$26.00 – $30.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour safety bonus effective immediately upon hire. This is a full-time, hourly position with typical shifts of 10–11 hours per day, Monday through Friday starting at 3 a.m. Drivers are expected to work a Saturday approximately every three weeks.
