Job description

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the go to market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
AWS is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Partner Core Enablement Shared Services (ESS) team. This is a technical role where you will develop and maintain production applications that serve internal AWS teams and external partners at scale. The team builds web applications, AI powered automation tools, analytics mechanisms, and internal services that help the partner organization operate more efficiently and at greater scale.
You will own the implementation and delivery of features across web applications and services, working within a defined scope alongside cross functional partners. You will contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle from coding through testing and production deployment. The ideal candidate has strong computer science fundamentals, writes clean production quality code, learns quickly, and is eager to work with AI services and cloud native architectures.
Key job responsibilities
- Implement and deliver features for production web applications and internal services, contributing to frontend, backend, and data layers
- Build tools and automation using AWS AI services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q) to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
- Implement data pipelines from multiple sources, contribute to data model design, and develop standardized metrics and calculations for business reporting
- Build analytics and reporting solutions using SQL and business intelligence tools that consolidate data from internal platforms into dashboards for stakeholders
- Develop APIs and integrations that connect internal systems and expose data to other teams and tools across the organization
- Contribute to internal workflow systems that manage approvals, notifications, scheduling, and self service operations for partner facing teams
- Participate in production operations including deployments, security reviews, access management, and service health monitoring
- Write well structured, testable code with appropriate documentation, participate in code reviews, and follow team engineering standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with front-end software development
- Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience building data pipelines or automated ETL processes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience operating production systems including deployment and monitoring

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
