HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN

Location: 12621 Harris Branch Pkwy., Manor, TX 78653
Schedule: PartTime, Onsite (30 hours per week)

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related field (Sophomore level preferred)
  • Academic background aligned with Human Resources or a closely related discipline
Language Skills
  • English: Required
  • Spanish: A plus
Professional Training / Working Skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
HR-Related Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources functions
  • Experience or familiarity with documentation and record keeping
Additional Skills & Competencies
  • People-oriented with a professional and approachable demeanor
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the collection, filing, and maintenance of HR records, including employee files, performance documentation, and record retention materials
  • Conduct quarterly employee file audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Post job openings on SuccessFactors and Handshake, monitor applications, and share candidate pools with hiring managers
  • Coordinate and participate in candidate interviews
  • Support preemployment verification processes, including background checks and drug screenings
  • Assist with event scheduling and coordination
  • Maintain the employee training system and training plans, ensuring records and evidence are current and properly documented
  • Schedule training opportunities for employees and ensure completion documentation is maintained
  • Perform quarterly audits of the training system
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and completion of required documentation
  • Ensure job descriptions are current and maintained on file; update existing descriptions as responsibilities evolve or create new ones for newly established roles
  • Assist in reviewing and updating HR practices to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
  • Support HR policy updates and revisions
  • Assist with the launch and support of Quality Management Systems
  • Perform additional duties related to the role, including contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, workplace environment enhancements, and supporting industrial safety, environmental protection, and energy management activities relevant to HR operations
  • Support the employee recognition program and assist with the creation and distribution of the monthly employee newsletter
