Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for conducting inspections of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's newly built or previously owned homes and other residential properties examining structural quality, home systems and features including roofing, exterior, foundation, interior, plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling systems. The individual identifies areas of concerns that need to be repaired or changed; detects and reports any safety and/or possible building code violations and prepares reports of inspection accordingly. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Associate's degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working as home inspector, building inspector or related field is required; or any equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. State of Florida certification as Home Inspector is required. Certification in Wind Mitigation is required. The individual must be able to climb ladders or crawl in tight spaces to complete their inspections. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
