What is a from home virtual guard?

A From Home Virtual Guard is a security professional who monitors surveillance cameras and alarm systems remotely from their own home. They use specialized software to observe live video feeds, respond to security alerts, and communicate with on-site personnel or law enforcement when needed. This role allows organizations to maintain security coverage without requiring guards to be physically present at a location. Virtual guards play a crucial role in deterring crime, reporting suspicious activities, and ensuring the safety of property and people. The job often requires strong attention to detail, reliable internet access, and the ability to remain alert during shifts.

To thrive as a From Home Virtual Guard, you need a solid understanding of security protocols, surveillance practices, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with remote monitoring software, CCTV systems, and incident reporting tools is often required. Strong attention to detail, quick decision-making, and effective communication are essential soft skills for identifying and responding to security threats. These skills ensure the virtual guard can maintain safety, accurately assess situations, and coordinate responses from a remote environment.

Daymark Health is a value-based oncology company redefining the cancer care experience for patients, providers, and health plans. Daymark's comprehensive, personalized cancer care platform empowers patients with dedicated care navigation, symptom-focused support, behavioral health care, and social resources. Combined with evidence-based health interventions and a hybrid in-person + virtual care model, Daymark is improving the overall cancer experience for patients, providers, and health plans – and setting a new standard in cancer care.

Daymark's groundbreaking approach is led by CEO Dr. Justin Bekelman, a pioneer in transforming cancer care, alongside some of the nation's foremost leaders in oncology and value-based care. Daymark Health is backed by Maverick Ventures, Yosemite, Oncology Ventures, Healthier Capital, Blue Venture Fund, and Healthcare Foundry.

Be cautious of recruitment fraud, and always confirm that communications are coming from an official Daymark Health email.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Registered Nurse at Daymark Health, you will be a key member of an integrated Care Team, which includes a Nurse Practitioner, Health Partner, Enrollment Specialist, and Social Worker. You will deliver hands-on, compassionate care directly in patients' homes and through virtual platforms. You will provide triage, case management, and care navigation for oncology patients, many of whom have additional comorbidities.

Your primary focus is delivering direct clinical care in the home: administering treatments, managing symptoms, conducting assessments, and being a trusted, present resource for patients and their families during one of the most challenging times of their lives. You will also support patients through virtual platforms and help them access Daymark's services and support.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role, you will provide direct patient care in the home and through virtual platforms. Additionally, you will conduct health assessments, educate patients, and deliver high-quality care to meet each patient's unique needs. In this role you will:

  • Deliver In-Home Clinical Care. Master hands-on care as a clinician in patients' homes administering IV fluids, accessing ports, conducting point-of-care testing, and managing acute and chronic symptoms with confidence and skill.
  • Provide Urgent Clinical Support. Triage urgent needs from patients, escalations to a home visit or to our Nurse Practitioners. Offer consultative clinical guidance and help patients navigate critical moments in their care.
  • Support Patients Across the Full Care Continuum. Provide comprehensive clinical support from active treatment through survivorship or end-of-life care, adapting your approach to meet each patient where they are.
  • Proactively Address Patient Needs. Quickly identify and act on patient needs: symptom management, nutritional support, discharge planning, and provider referrals, without waiting to be asked.
  • Address Social Determinants of Health. Partner with your non-clinical Care Team members to resolve barriers like food insecurity and transportation that affect patient outcomes.
  • Master Daymark Systems. Become familiar with Daymark's systems, tools, technology, and partners.
  • Build Trusting Relationships. Establish strong, trusting relationships with patients and their care networks by prioritizing empathy and active listening in every interaction.
  • Adhere to Operational Standards. You're following Care Team policies, procedures, and documentation standards, contributing to operational efficiency and maintaining high-quality care with comfort.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required, along with unrestricted registered nurse (RN) licensure in California. Additionally, you have at least 3 years of nursing experience, with some prior experience in home care strongly preferred. Experience in oncology, palliative, or hospice care is a plus.
  • Qualifications: Oncology-related certifications such as Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN), Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Specialist (AOCNS), or Certified Case Manager (CCM) are a plus.
  • Strong Clinical Skills. You're comfortable administering IV fluids, accessing ports when needed, and conducting point of care testing.
  • In-Home Care Competency: Comfortable and effective working independently in patients' homes, exercising strong clinical judgment without immediate on-site backup.
  • Organizational & Technology Skills. You excel at multitasking and thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining meticulous organization in communications and documentation. You're comfortable using Slack, Zoom, Google Suite, and EHR systems.
  • Strong relational skills. You are an effective listener and communicator and have the ability to establish rapport and work effectively with diverse populations including health care providers, clinical staff, patients, and family members.
  • Bias to action: You don't wait for someone to tell you what to do.  You know how to identify and prioritize your initiative's needs and do what it takes to ensure that urgent and important needs are acted on immediately.
  • Patient-Centric Approach: You prioritize the patient experience and demonstrate a deep commitment to Daymark's mission.
  • Adaptability: You are comfortable with change and ambiguity and have a proven track record of success in dynamic environments.

The expected compensation for this role is $140,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on location & experience.
