Tenet North Cal is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager, DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a nursing job in San Ramon, California.

Position Summary: 
Reporting to the Nursing Director, the position utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the Nurse Director, and Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met.
 

1.    Maintains current professional licenses and/or certifications as and when required by state, regulatory agency, or hospital mandate.
2.    Demonstrates knowledge of, and adheres to, all applicable professional/regulatory practice acts, state/ federal regulations, and policies and procedures of San Ramon Regional Medical Center (SRRMC) and TENET CORPORATION.
3.    Determines staffing requirements to assure safe and competent patient care. Considers patient acuity, age specific needs of patients, staff skill mix, and individual patientโ€™s plan of care when making assignments. Demonstrates flexibility in response to unexpected changes in volume, emergencies, staffing, or schedule changes
4.    Assists the Nurse Director with employee evaluations and performance management. Utilizes observation techniques, chart review, and patient interviews to evaluate staff nurse performance and quality of patient care delivered. Assists employees to improve/maintain performance by establishing goals with measurable performance outcomes, action plans, and time frames.
5.    Monitors the safety of the work environment.
6.    Assists the Nurse Director in developing unit goals and plans for evaluating and achieving those initiatives.
7.    Participates with the Nurse Director in interviewing candidates.
 

Minimum Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing
BSN and/or MSN Degree or related field preferred


Minimum Experience/Skills:
Minimum of three (3) years progressive management experience in the field of expertise
Minimum of five (5) years experience in an acute care setting
Ability to communicate effectively in English; both verbally and in writing
Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short time frames


Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Current California RN license
Current BLS certification for Health Care Providers (AHA certified)
Current ACLS certification (AHA certified)Current CPI card โ€“ Nonviolent Crises Intervention Training
CEN preferred
