Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and validation of RF systems and subsystems used in semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Perform RF chain analysis including gain, noise figure, linearity, and stability across system architecture.
  • Design and optimize matching networks for power transfer, efficiency, and signal integrity.
  • Develop RF PCB layouts, including controlled impedance routing, grounding strategies, and signal isolation.
  • Conduct network measurements and analysis using lab equipment such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Design and characterize RF resonators, filters, and passive components.
  • Develop low-noise oscillators and RF signal generation circuits.
  • Perform system-level integration of RF subsystems with power, control systems, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Run simulations using 3D electromagnetic and RF simulation tools to validate designs and reduce risk.
  • Conduct experimental testing, analyze performance data, and drive iterative design improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to product development processes including requirements definition, system architecture, design reviews, verification and validation testing.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Select RF components and materials based on frequency performance, thermal behavior, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver manufacturable, high-performance designs.
  • Support supplier selection and evaluate vendor capabilities for RF components and assemblies.
  • Provide technical leadership in RF design best practices, signal integrity, and system optimization.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in RF and high-frequency hardware design.
  • Strong experience with RF system design and analysis, matching network design and tuning, RF PCB layout and stack-up definition, RF measurement techniques and lab instrumentation, and hands‑on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generators).
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, electromagnetic behavior, and noise mitigation.
  • Experience participating in technical design reviews and structured development processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment RF power delivery systems or plasma systems.
  • Oscillator and frequency synthesis design experience.
  • Resonator or filter design experience.
  • Experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS, or similar 3D EM tools).
  • PCB design experience using tools such as Altium or PADS.
  • Familiarity with Creo, Schematic, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Windchill or other PLM systems.
  • Experience working with global or offshore engineering teams.
