Job description

We're hiring a work-from-home entry-level real estate field runner to help us gather property information on local single-family homes.
When a homeowner requests a cash offer on their property, you'll drive to the property, take photos, perform a light property inspection, and upload your findings to our platform so our acquisitions team can accurately evaluate the property and determine whether to make an offer.
This position is strictly limited to gathering property information, photos, and inspection details. It does not involve licensed real estate activities, negotiating with homeowners, discussing contracts, determining property values, providing real estate advice, or making offers on properties. No real estate license is required. All training provided.

All appointments are pre-scheduled. Construction estimating, remodeling, home inspection, handyman, or home staging experience is very helpful but not required. All training is provided.
Flexible hours. Work from home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning real estate investing, property evaluation, acquisitions, and the home-buying process. You'll work closely with experienced real estate investors and have the opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities as you build experience.

We meet daily on Zoom for training, coaching, and direction. For the right person, this can be a stepping stone toward a future career in real estate investing or becoming a licensed real estate agent.
Contractors are paid for every appointment assigned and completed, regardless of whether we ultimately purchase the property or make an offer on the home. Compensation is based on completing the appointment, gathering property information, taking photos, performing the inspection, and uploading the required documentation.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, learning about houses, driving around the local area, and wants hands-on exposure to real estate investing. Former contractors, handymen, home inspectors, construction workers, property managers, aspiring real estate agents, and aspiring investors often do well in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Internalize the principles taught in the book How to Win Friends and Influence People.
  • Confirm appointments before driving to the property.
  • Inform homeowners by text or email that you are there solely to gather property information and conduct an inspection.
  • Drive up to one hour each way to appointments using your own vehicle.
  • Greet homeowners professionally and build rapport to create a comfortable inspection experience
  • Explain the inspection process and answer basic questions about your visit.
  • Direct all questions regarding offers, pricing, negotiations, contracts, property values, or real estate matters to our acquisitions team.
  • Take photos of all areas of the property that may affect its condition and value.
  • Complete a simple property inspection to identify visible damage, deferred maintenance, repairs, or updates that may be needed.
  • Wear a Plaud Note Pin during appointments with everyone's knowledge and consent.
  • Upload photos, inspection notes, recordings, and property research to our online platform.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for every appointment.
  • Do not engage in any activity that requires a real estate license.
  • Do not discuss property values, offer amounts, negotiations, contracts, real estate advice, or any licensed real estate activity.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check (no violent offenses).
  • Ability to drive to appointments most days of the week.
  • Reliable personal vehicle.
  • Mobile phone capable of taking high-quality photos and videos.
  • Presentable and professional appearance.
  • Comfortable meeting homeowners in person.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable.
  • Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor.

Compensation:
  • $40-$60 per completed appointment.
  • Additional $50 bonus when appointment notes reflect substantial homeowner interaction and information gathering (typically more than one hour of conversation).
  • Contractors are paid for every completed appointment regardless of whether the property is purchased or whether an offer is ultimately made.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Independent Contractor (1099) position.
