Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for Part-Time LACE (Learning Assistance Center for Excellence) assistants for the Respiratory Care (RC) program. LACE assistants are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as LACE Assistant assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: LACE Assistants in the RC Program are responsible for tutoring students in theory and application to assist students in developing competency in entry level skills a required of a graduate respiratory therapist. They support the assessment of student learning and report student progress to program coordinator and clinical coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS :
  1. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, holding a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Illinois state license.
  2. Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
  3. Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
  4. Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
  5. Knowledge in use of information technology.

STARTING SALARY: $20.37 per hour, up to 9 hours per week.
