These roles often involve travel to patients' residences, maintaining sterile technique, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers. Professionals in this field must be skilled in vascular access and adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent complications. The demand for home-based PICC insertions is growing as more patients require long-term intravenous therapies outside the hospital.
