Pharmacy Technician Inpatient Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Technician in the Inpatient Pharmacy plays a critical role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services within a hospital or healthcare facility. This position is responsible for accurately preparing, dispensing, and managing medications for hospitalized patients, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. The role requires close collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain optimal medication therapy and patient care. Attention to detail and adherence to protocols are essential to prevent medication errors and ensure timely availability of medications. Ultimately, the Pharmacy Technician contributes to improving patient outcomes by facilitating the seamless operation of the inpatient pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medication names, and dosage forms.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards applicable to inpatient settings.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy environment.

  • Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety, privacy, and infection control policies within the inpatient pharmacy setting.
