Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

Location/Division Specific Information

We are the Proteomic Sciences division (former Olink Proteomics). Our solutions are transforming the understanding of human diseases through advanced protein biomarker discovery. With our innovative Olink solutions – including highly specific and validated assays that cover more than 5,000 proteins – our colleagues and technology empower scientists in groundbreaking research that will play a pivotal role in the future of personalized medicine.

Position Description

We are looking for a SR Software Developer to join our Olink NPX team as part of our Software Development department at our HQ in Uppsala. Our Software Developers work in agile teams and across the stack to build innovative, high-quality applications.

As a SR Software Developer, you will be a key contributor in designing, developing, and maintaining our software solutions. You will work closely with fellow developers, data scientists, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable applications. You will take ownership of complex features, contribute to technical design decisions, and help improve the quality and maintainability of our products.

Our NPX software platforms provide data analysis capabilities and processing pipelines supporting our Olink products. They are used by customers worldwide to generate and quality control proteomics data produced in laboratories and are an integral part of groundbreaking medical research.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain our NPX software with a strong focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with developers, data scientists, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to deliver customer value.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and implement solutions aligned with business and product needs.
  • Translate functional requirements into high-quality software solutions.
  • Take ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle, from refinement and implementation to testing and maintenance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality, development practices, and team productivity.
  • Help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work across the technology stack as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years of proven industry experience in software development.
  • Strong knowledge of C#/.NET as well as experience with a frontend framework (we use Avalonia UI).
  • Experience designing and delivering maintainable, scalable software solutions.
  • Experience working with modern software development practices, including Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Swedish is a must.
  • Knowledge of biological sciences and bioinformatics is a strong plus.

If you are a curious person who enjoys learning new things and thrives in a collaborative and open environment, this could be the right opportunity for you.

You should be based around the Uppsala or Stockholm region and be able to attend our Uppsala HQ on a regular basis. We work three days from the office with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Apply today!

If you believe you’re the right fit for this role, we encourage you to submit your resume along with a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience.
