Department: The SchoolPosition Title: Part-Time ReceptionistReports to: School ManagerClassification: Part-time, Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $18.40/hr.Location: 3515 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC 20016 Position Description:The Part-Time Receptionist at The Washington Ballet, Main Building, is the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring a positive and welcoming environment by managing the front desk, answering inquiries, and providing administrative support to various departments. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Part-time, weekend hours. Saturdays at Main: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM for the entire school year (Sept. 14-June 6), and 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM during Nutcracker season only. Additional weekend coverage opportunities may be available at Cathedral Commons (Saturdays and/or Sundays, 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM). Key Job Duties:Front Desk Management: Greet and direct students, parents, and visitors with professionalism and warmth, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at all times.Phone Communication: Answer incoming phone calls addressing inquiries or routing them to the appropriate staff member or department. Check voicemail daily, take notes, and follow up with School Manager or School Principal.Administrative Support: Assist with data entry, maintaining student records, filing, and distributing information to staff or students as needed.Class Registration Assistance: Provide support to students and parents during the registration process, helping with forms, payment processing, and scheduling inquiries.Facility Oversight: Monitor the lobby area and studios to ensure they remain organized and tidy, and assist with any operational issues (e.g., reporting facility maintenance needs). Daily Schedules and Announcements: Keep updated on class schedules, teacher availability, and special events to provide accurate information to students and parents.Attendance Tracking: Monitor student check-ins, recording attendance and ensuring accuracy in reporting.Safety & Security: Manage and maintain student drop off and pick up procedures.
