Position Summary

A Fire & Contents Moving Technician is a key component of our restoration team, responsible for handling, packing, moving, cleaning, and protecting customer contents and furniture during fire, smoke, water, and restoration-related losses.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, staying active throughout the day, helping customers during difficult situations, and working closely with a team to restore homes and businesses.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carefully pack, wrap, move, and transport furniture, contents, and personal belongings to prevent damage
  • Load and unload contents from homes, businesses, storage facilities, and company vehicles
  • Photograph, identify, label, and inventory customer contents accurately
  • Thoroughly clean smoke residue from contents and structures
  • Assist with contents manipulation and furniture moving during restoration projects
  • Provide post-job site cleaning and maintain organized, clean work environments
  • Respond to restoration, remediation, damage, and sanitary cleaning jobs according to IICRC standards and company processes
  • Maintain timely communication with peers regarding job status, scope of work, and documentation
  • Establish and maintain schedules to ensure services are delivered in a timely manner
  • Maintain company equipment, moving supplies, and restoration equipment to ensure readiness and cleanliness
  • Cross-train in related restoration services and assist with additional duties as needed
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently

Requirements & Skills

  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and perform physical, hands-on work
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Empathy and professionalism when working with customers during difficult situations
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the Restoration Industry
  • Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently throughout the day
  • Comfortable with prolonged walking, standing, bending, lifting, and working in varying environments while wearing PPE
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test and extensive background screening
  • Available for full-time work with overtime and on-call rotations
