Full‐Time | On‐Site | Approx. 40 hrs/week + seasonal overtime

A premier Southern California scenery and fabrication shop is seeking a skilled Project Manager to help oversee custom scenic builds, set fabrication, and specialty production work. We operate in a fast‐paced, creative environment where precision matters and every project is a little different.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction drawings to understand project scope.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for fabrication, refurbishment, materials, labor, and transportation.
  • Coordinate with fabrication leads, vendors, and logistics to keep projects on schedule.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from start to finish.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients regarding progress and technical needs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong ability to read and understand plans/blueprints.
  • Experience in estimating for fabrication, construction, or scenic work.
  • Proficiency with Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Illustrator, and ideally EnRoute.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline‐driven environment.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable punctuality — our shop operates early morning shifts, and being on time is essential.

Major Plus (Not Required, but Highly Valued)

  • Hands‐on experience with CNC machines, especially MultiCam systems.
  • Understanding of CNC workflows, toolpathing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with shop production processes, materials, and fabrication methods.

Work Environment

  • Standard schedule is 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime is common during high‐demand periods and may be required depending on project deadlines.
  • Heavy lifting is not a primary part of this role — our shop staff and equipment (forklifts, carts, etc.) handle that side of the work.
