Job description

Job Title: Athletic Training Fellow           

Department: Medical

Reports to: Director of Performance Services

Position Summary:

FC Cincinnati is searching for a reliable, and detail-oriented Athletic Training Fellow for the 2026 Major League Soccer season. The Athletic Training Fellow will report to the Director of Performance Services and will be expected to assist the sports medicine staff in providing the highest quality medical care to FC Cincinnati Athletes. The Athletic Training Fellow is expected to aid in common daily Athletic Training duties, pre-training set-up and breakdown, and assist FC Cincinnati medical staff however necessary.  The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detailed-oriented, professional, possess strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will work approximately 28 hours a week with a start in August 2026.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in providing athletic training services to FC Cincinnati athletes, this includes attendance at schedule team practices and home competitions
  • Maintain Athletic Training equipment and facilities
  • Actively participate in daily team activities and Athletic Training duties
  • Aid in daily treatment documentation
  • Function as a member of the Stretcher Crew during home competitions
  • Work with the Sports Medicine and Sports Performance staff in team testing such as: FC Cincinnati functional movement screen, musculoskeletal assessments, return to play testing, and baseline concussion evaluations
  • Collaborate with Sports Medicine staff regarding patient care and transportation to and from physician appointments
  • Cover FCC youth camps and events as a certified athletic trainer
  • Complies with all company and league medical policies and protocols
  • Key interactions are with the staff Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapist, Sports Performance staff, Team Physicians, and Coaches
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

What You'll Bring:

  • NATABOC Certification required
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree required in athletic training from CAATE recognized school
  • Active Ohio Athletic Trainer Licensure required or the ability to obtain quickly
  • American Heart Association AED/CPR Certification for the healthcare provider
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Previous soccer experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
