Outdoor Lighting Operational Lead

Primarily responsible for street lighting maintenance and construction activities. Manage several maintenance and construction contractors. This individual will be expected to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.

This position will be based in Dayton, Ohio and will report to the Manager of MVLt. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with a focus on operational safety. The person will work both in the field throughout the AES Ohio service territory and in the MVLt office in Dayton with potential flexibility to work at home up to 1 day per week.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation of daily operating plans, maintains current lighting system status and implements actions to compensate for system disturbances.

  • Supervises contractor technical personnel involved in real time implementation of actions related to the street lighting system.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external staff as well as with strategic customer accounts.

  • Maintains a focus on safety in the street lighting operations as well as in the office.

  • Evaluates lighting products to determine product quality and maintenance requirements.

  • Evaluates lighting contractors to determine qualifications with an emphasis on safe operations.

  • Manage material ordering for all maintenance activities including preparing and placing special order materials with multiple approved vendors.

  • Manage materials, work orders and track progress of special lighting programs such as the LED Mass Change Out program.

  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work assignments to meet required deadlines.

  • Monitors and ensures compliance with AES policies, internal controls, and corporate policies.

  • Identifies problems, evaluates the causes, and takes action to resolve the problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Business or Engineering preferred.

  • 5+ years of professional experience.

  • Good problem solving and resource management skills.
