Job description

Position Title: Network Engineer
Location Information: Santa Clara, CA
Position Responsibilities:
Engineers on the Region Networking NQT team will support the Network Qualification of devices and software for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role will require a deep understanding of hardware and software testing, networking at the protocol level, and programming skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Using existing procedures and tools to test new hardware, optics, protocols, and software
  • Developing scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business units
  • Coordinating with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling
  • Building dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles to identify network issues and anomalies
  • Collaborating with network vendor technical account team and internal qualification and test team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems
  • Collaborating with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineering field with 3+ years of Network Engineering experience
  • Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
  • Experience working in a network test engineer role
  • Knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with VxLAN and EVPN is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting or automation and data center design, Python preferred
  • Experience with network modeling and programming, including YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF
  • Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues, capable of working under limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities
