River Valley Counseling Services is in search of a skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team. Work Environment

This position is remote, allowing for flexibility and convenience as you engage with clients throughout the East and West Coast. You will work collaboratively in a supportive environment, leveraging available technology to conduct sessions, maintain communications, and document client progress. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and emotional situations, utilizing tools and methodologies in alignment with best practice guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are thoughtfully tailored to each client’s specific needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group sessions, ensuring a responsive and adaptive approach to treatment.
  • Regularly monitor, track, and document clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and client feedback.
  • Offer crisis intervention support to clients facing immediate psychological distress, utilizing established protocols for effective intervention.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, adhering to legal and ethical standards to ensure protection of client privacy.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to coordinate holistic and comprehensive care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by participating in trainings, workshops, and supervision sessions to enhance clinical capabilities and knowledge of emerging treatment modalities.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by licensing boards and mental health organizations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at River Valley Counseling Services, you will work with a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Your clients may present with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and adjustment disorders. You will be expected to employ inclusive and culturally competent approaches to address the diverse backgrounds and needs of your clients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW).
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills combined with the ability to create empathetic therapeutic alliances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on therapeutic communication techniques.
  • Empathy and compassion paired with a commitment to promoting client well-being and mental health.

Preferred Experience
