Job description

General Description:To facilitate knowledge and understanding of the S&R quality system by; assists all employees in meeting its requirements, performing First Article, in-process and final inspections of products, conducting audits, and monitoring calibration of measurement tools.Responsibilities:Process Control (70%)Perform process capability studies and PPAP/ISIR related activitiesCollect data to establish or revise workmanship standardsAssist employees and supervisors to fill-in quality forms and determine disposition of non-conforming productDevelop databases for various quality projectsMake recommendations for long-range quality system or process improvementsPerform first piece, in-process and final inspections as requestedCoordinate Quality System paperworkUtilize various quality instruments to perform necessary inspections  Process Monitoring (10%)Collect, format information, analyze recorded charts, and provide summary analysis to appropriate managersReport nonconforming materialOrganize quality documents and customer filesAssist employees in proper measurement methods  Schedule and control calibration of all inspection tools (10%)Perform in-house calibration of all micrometers, calipers and miscellaneous gagesInitiate and coordinate outside calibration of instruments as required by scheduleParticipate in vendor certification to eliminate incoming inspection when applicable Act as an auditor for internal quality audits (5%)Write customer correspondences when applicable (5%)Other duties as required Minimum Educational Qualifications:High school degree or equivalentOther Skills:Related mechanical experienceReading technical drawings or proceduresBasic mathUnderstanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
