The Focus and Balance Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a full-time remote role. • Conduct initial assessments of clients to evaluate their mental health status and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
• Engage clients in regular therapy sessions, whether individually or in groups, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques that address various mental health issues.
• Provide guidance and support to clients dealing with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other mental health concerns, equipping them with coping strategies and resources.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and medical doctors, for referrals and integrated care approaches when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.

In your role, you will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals from varied cultural backgrounds and age groups. You will work with those experiencing a broad spectrum of mental health disorders, including but not limited to substance use issues, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders. Cultural competence and sensitivity are vital, as you will help clients navigate their unique challenges while ensuring an inclusive therapeutic environment.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Illinois.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in providing mental health counseling.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect and build rapport with a diverse range of clients.

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions, demonstrating a keen ability to adapt to the therapeutic needs of different populations.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) software and online counseling platforms to efficiently document sessions and manage client information.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, capable of maintaining composure in high-pressure situations while providing immediate support.
