Position Title:Intern - Workforce Development and Promotions Intern

Minimum Salary: $19.09 hourly
*APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
Position Description:
The Behavioral Health Workforce Development and Promotions Team intern will work primarily with the team in the coordination of training and clinical service provision activities of the Division. Duties related to training will include training scheduling and registration, information materials inventory management, and data entry to monitor the effectiveness of trainings delivered. Duties related to clinical services will include data entry and analysis. Other duties as assigned.
Interns will gain valuable experience from a public service career perspective as well as a deeper understanding of mental health, peer support services, prevention and crisis services, and substance use initiatives being implemented in South Dakota's communities.
Successful candidates should possess strong critical thinking and evaluation skills as well as effective communication abilities. Preference will be given to candidates with coursework or experience related to macro level behavioral health service delivery, research methods, statistics, and/or behavioral health treatment. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and other Microsoft programs is needed.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
