Day in the Life of a Substance Abuse Counselor
Provides individual counseling to highly complex patients. Conducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient's treatment needs. Designs and updates the patient's treatment plan, including care coordination, referrals, and discharge planning. Manages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirements. Collaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment services. Facilitates urine drug screening for patients.
Position Benefits

Qualified candidates will hold one or more of the following certifications/licenses:
  • Master's degree in counseling or a related field.
  • Must be licensed in the state of TN as LMSW Experience treating opioid-addicted patients is not a requirement but is preferred.
  • No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.
  • General experience working with underserved populations in a clinical setting.
  • Lived addiction experience is a plus.

Schedule and Hours
Expected hours for this role are 37-40 hours per week.
  • Monday: 9:00 am- 4:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 9:00 am- 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 9:00am- 4:00 pm
  • Thursday: 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
  • Friday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
