We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer / Professional Engineer (PE) to lead construction engineering and inspection activities on highway, bridge, roadway, airport, municipal, and heavy civil construction projects throughout the State of Arizona.

What You'll Do

As a Resident Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and oversee construction engineering and inspection activities to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Project Leadership

  • Serve as the Resident Engineer on transportation, bridge, roadway, airport, and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and supervise Construction Inspectors, Engineering Technicians, and project support staff.
  • Coordinate daily project activities with contractors, owners, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide engineering guidance throughout construction.

Construction Engineering & Inspection

  • Verify contractor compliance with contract documents, project plans, specifications, special provisions, and applicable State and Federal standards.
  • Review and approve daily inspection reports, field documentation, project diaries, and engineering records.
  • Review contractor pay estimates, quantities, force account work, and contract modifications.
  • Evaluate proposed change orders and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Monitor project schedules, construction progress, and overall quality assurance.
  • Oversee survey operations, construction materials testing, and field quality acceptance activities.
  • Review engineering calculations, geometric layouts, and project documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with MUTCD requirements for temporary traffic control.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout every phase of construction.

Travel Requirements

Project assignments are located throughout Arizona and may include municipal, state, and federally funded transportation projects.

Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required depending on project location.
