Job Description:

We Are Seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst to design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex enterprise applications in a large-scale, multi-tier environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Natural/Adabas development, SQL, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), along with a strong background supporting Human Services systems. This role requires exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate business requirements, develop technical solutions, maintain critical applications, and participate in an on-call support rotation. Experience with Agile methodologies and Linux environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

·         Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications and databases using Natural/Adabas and SQL.

·         Analyze business and technical requirements to design efficient, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

·         Work closely with business stakeholders and end users to gather, document, and refine application requirements.

·         Develop new application functionality and enhance existing systems to support evolving business needs.

·         Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies throughout system design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

·         Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to support application functionality and reporting.

·         Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions.

·         Perform quality assurance testing and support application deployments and production releases.

·         Participate in ongoing application maintenance, enhancements, and operational support activities.

·         Collaborate with technical teams to improve application performance, reliability, and business processes.

·         Participate in an on-call support rotation to provide timely resolution of production issues.

·         Contribute to process improvements and support Agile development practices, including Kanban or similar methodologies.

Required Skills:

Required Qualifications

·         10+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Natural/Adabas.

·         Strong experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.

·         Experience developing and supporting complex multi-tier enterprise applications.

·         Experience using SCL in Linux environments.

·         Advanced experience working with stakeholders to design, implement, and enhance large-scale applications.

·         Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

·         Strong knowledge and practical experience applying the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

·         7+ years of experience supporting Human Services or similar large-scale government enterprise systems.

·         Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

·         Experience with application design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

·         Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while managing multiple priorities.

·         Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience working in Linux/Unix operating systems.

·         Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

·         Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, or Extreme Programming (XP).

·         Experience with quality assurance testing and application validation.

·         Familiarity with enterprise application modernization and process improvement initiatives.
