HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
As an Electrical Commodity Buyer, you will manage strategic sourcing and procurement activities for electrical components. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant supply of electrical parts to support our rail vehicle production programs.
Key Activities
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electrical commodities
• Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and technical specifications Procurement consulting for assigned commodity groups
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, driving continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery (KPIs) Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers capable of meeting Stadler's quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Conduct market research and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to support sourcing decisions
• Participate in cross-site pooling activities
• Support claims management, including liquidated damages, and assist the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) team with supplier escalations
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs to support procurement and supplier management activities
• Coordinate between suppliers and Engineering to resolve technical inquiries, manage deviation requests, and ensure alignment on product requirements
• Manage supplier implementation of engineering changes and drawing revisions, ensuring compliance with updated specifications, effective revision control, and traceability of affected materials
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Industrial or Manufacturing purchasing
• Resilient and independent personality
• Strong organizational skills and efficient working methods
• Very experienced with Microsoft Office and ERP system (preferable Infor COM)
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
