Are you knowledgeable about comic books, magazines, and related collectibles? Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision? Do you thrive in roles that require accuracy, consistency, and critical thinking? Are you comfortable working in a performance-driven environment where quality and throughput matter?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you may be a great fit for our Comic Grader role at Certified Guaranty Company (CGC), a division of Certified Collectibles Group (CCG).
This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in comic book authentication and grading while working with the world's leading certification service. As a Grader, you'll evaluate collectible comics, ensure accuracy and integrity, and contribute to a high-performance team dedicated to precision and craftsmanship.
ABOUT US
Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) is a global leader in the fast-growing collectibles market. Founded in 1987, CCG provides third-party authentication and grading services that protect the integrity of the hobby and empower confident buying and selling decisions. To date, more than 110 million coins, banknotes, comic books, magazines, trading cards, sports cards, stamps, video games & home videos, and autographs have been certified by CCG. Trusted by collectors and dealers worldwide, CCG has locations in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, United Arab Emirates and China.
WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A COMIC GRADER:
  • Authenticate and evaluate collectible comic books using CGC's established grading standards.
  • Assign accurate numerical grades based on condition, rarity, and quality indicators.
  • Identify signs of restoration, alterations, or counterfeit attempts with precision.
  • Handle and store comics with care to maintain integrity and prevent damage.
  • Compare items against reference materials and escalate complex cases when necessary.
  • Record grading notes and item details accurately in internal systems.
  • Meet production and accuracy goals in a performance-driven environment.
  • Stay informed on grading trends, collector demand, and emerging restoration techniques.
  • Collaborate with peers and senior graders to ensure consistency and quality control.
  • Occasionally travel domestically or internationally for business functions and events.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Previous experience in comic book grading or as a knowledgeable dealer/collector with a strong understanding of grading concepts.
  • Broad knowledge of comic books, including artists, publishers, variants, pedigrees, and market values.
  • Proven ability to work with precision and consistency in a production-based environment.
  • Strong observational and critical thinking skills for detecting subtle defects or authenticity issues.
  • Comfortable using computers and digital tracking systems.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of integrity.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. (e.g., History, Art History, or related fields)
  • Ability to visually inspect fine details, including color differentiation and depth perception, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work on-site in Sarasota, FL, Monday through Friday.

WHY YOU WILL LOVE WORKING WITH US:
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance.
  • PTO & Paid Holidays.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Career development and learning opportunities in a unique, growing industry.
