The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) coordinates the day-to-day implementation of the Bank's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. The FIU is responsible for the governance, oversight, and execution of Rockland Trust's BSA, AML, and OFAC programs, helping protect our customers, the Bank, and the financial system from illicit activity.

We are seeking a FIU BSA Investigator (Temporary Assignment) to support the FIU team. Reporting to the FIU Operations Manager, this individual will perform risk-based reviews and investigations to support compliance with BSA, AML, USA PATRIOT Act, Customer Identification Program (CIP), Beneficial Ownership, and OFAC requirements.

The successful candidate will investigate alerts and customer activity, perform enhanced due diligence reviews, identify potentially suspicious activity, and support the Bank's regulatory compliance efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review account activity and investigate alerts for potential suspicious activity.
  • Conduct research using internal systems, public records, and external resources.
  • Perform enhanced due diligence reviews on customers, beneficial owners, and related entities.
  • Analyze information and document investigative findings in accordance with FIU standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regulatory reports accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Manage assigned workloads while meeting departmental service level expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of AML typologies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate significant concerns to FIU management when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with FIU team members and business partners to support compliance efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations.
  • 2-3 years of related compliance, investigative, fraud, or AML experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • CAMS certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
