How You Will Make an Impact:
We are looking for a Deli Associate for our Lynnhaven location. Depending on your assigned station, you may be responsible for taking orders, running the cash register, answering the phone, expediting orders, or salad and sandwich preparation. Some typical tasks would be:
Salad & Sandwich Prep:
  • Stock stations with ingredients and refill as needed; portion out sides into containers.
  • Prepare and package salads and sandwiches according to set recipes.

Customer Service/Cashier:
  • Greet customers with a warm and welcoming attitude.
  • Assist walk-in customers with information and suggestions about menu items and catering offerings.
  • Operate the cash register and POS system to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Responsible for wiping down tables, refilling the ice and syrup in the soda dispenser, and general cleanliness of the front of the store.
  • During down times, prep paper goods (catering boxes, sandwich paper, stickers for containers, etc.) as well as par out salad dressings and sauces.

Customer Service/Phones:
  • Assist customers over the phone by providing information and suggestions about menu items and catering offerings and taking orders.

Expediting:
  • Pull orders together, ensuring the food is up to standard and correct condiments and paper goods are included.

All Staff:
  • Participate in opening and closing procedures, including doing dishes, mopping, replenishing paper items in the bathroom, taking out trash, and miscellaneous tasks assigned by the manager.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations, including stepping in to other roles, as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Able to follow directions and work independently
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Experience running a cash register or food prep a plus
  • Reliable transportation
