Position Overview

Bright Star Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist (OPT) to join our team in Leesburg, Virginia. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make meaningful differences in the lives of our clients through personalized care tailored to their unique rehabilitation needs. Our physical therapists play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and adjusting treatment plans that prevent disability, relieve pain, and enhance functional capabilities.

About the Organization

At Bright Star Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves on being a leader in the home healthcare industry. With a commitment to excellence and a mission to reshape the healthcare landscape, we deliver high-quality medical home care services, including home hospice, private duty care, and independent living support. Our concierge-style, on-demand services ensure that our clients receive the best possible care in the comfort of their own homes, reinforcing our vision of exceptional patient-centered experiences.

Work Environment

This position involves providing physical therapy services primarily in clients' home settings. The flexibility of home care allows for personalized engagement with each client, considering their specific environment and individual needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment and care planning. The role requires adaptability to various home environments and a commitment to fostering a comfortable and supportive space for clients during their recovery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Bright Star, you will be responsible for:

  • Directing therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscle function.
  • Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the proper execution of care plans and the highest quality of therapy services.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities using diagnostic assessments and mobility tests.
  • Assessing the home environment to recommend modifications that promote client independence and rehabilitation success.
  • Administering manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises tailored to each client's personal recovery goals.
  • Providing treatments such as traction and massage, while also applying physical agents as necessary.
  • Evaluating and fitting clients with prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating closely with physicians regarding any recommended modifications.
  • Participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client cases and ongoing treatment strategies.
  • Documenting clinical progress, care plans, and evaluations accurately and promptly in clients' records.
  • Educating clients and their families about physical therapy practices, device usage, and overall rehabilitation strategies.
  • Completing functional assessments and revising plans of care based on regularly observed changes in client conditions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals requiring rehabilitation due to post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, or mobility challenges stemming from injuries or age-related conditions. You will work closely with a diverse clientele, tailoring care to each individual's unique circumstances and backgrounds, ensuring that all aspects of their therapy align with their goals and comfort levels.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must possess:

  • A valid Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) with an active license in the state of Virginia.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in physical therapy, ideally in acute care or home care settings.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance to facilitate home visits.
  • A commitment to exceptional patient care and positive team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster effective relationships with clients, families, and team members.
Preferred Experience

While not required, additional qualifications that will benefit your application include:

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline patient tracking and documentation.
  • A background in a multidisciplinary team setting, enhancing collaborative care approaches.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services that can complement client therapy plans.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition to competitive pay, our benefits package includes:

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including dental, vision, and pharmacy benefits.
  • 401K retirement plan with company match available to all team members.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policies to support work-life balance.
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and dependent care accounts to assist with childcare and healthcare expenses.
Career Growth Opportunities

Bright Star Physical Therapy is dedicated to fostering professional development and career growth. As a member of our team, you will have access to a variety of continuing education programs and training opportunities that will enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of physical therapy. We encourage our staff to cultivate their expertise and explore pathways within our organization that align with their professional aspirations.
