Job description

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking a physician interested in practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine (without OB) at our Baker City location. Part of a 650+ provider multi-specialty group practice, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Baker City is a Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing emergency and primary care services for a full spectrum of patients throughout Baker County.

This is a unique opportunity to practice rural medicine in a well-supported location with a down-to-earth, community feel. An idyllic setting for any medical profession, Baker City offers small-town community while being in close proximity to Boise, just an hour and a half away to the east, and Portland/Seattle to the north.

Baker County represents an underserved population located in eastern Oregon and is nestled in a valley between the rugged Elkhorn and Eagle Cap Mountains. While this mountain area provides an outdoor recreation enthusiast's playground of fishing, hunting, rafting, biking, skiing, and other outdoor pursuits, it is also home to 18,000 individuals who rely on Saint Alphonsus and other area providers for all of their health needs.

Our Level IV Trauma Center is supported by 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia, on-site primary care, and rotating specialty physicians from the larger health system (with Boise 125 miles to the east). SAMG Baker Clinic is dedicated to providing services for a full spectrum of family medicine patients, including those with pulmonary, diabetic and arthritic/autoimmune conditions - the general patient demographic leans towards adult and geriatric, with low pediatrics. This is a full-time position with a traditional clinic work schedule; minimum of 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time per week.

This site has an active site application with the Oregon Office of Rural Health and a HPSA score of 16, and may qualify for state or federal loan repayment awards. Multiple loan repayment programs are available for physicians to apply to, ranging in award amount up to $105,000 for a three year commitment.

We re offering a generous base salary & sign on bonus, plus relocation, educational loan assistance, and comprehensive benefits.
