Full-Time
Day shift - approximate shift times: 5:30 am - 1:30 pm
Wages for licensed candidates will begin at $30 per hour for candidates with 2 years of blasting experience minimum. Pay will be determined based on experience. Blasting experience, especially underground mining experience is required.
Rogers Group is currently seeking a Blaster to conduct the daily blasting operations at our Jefferson County Stone Operation, which is an underground mine in Louisville, KY. The candidate will be responsible for the daily loading, transportation, storage and security of all aspects of the underground mine blasting process. The person will also be responsible for keeping and maintaining the daily and monthly blasting reports for all explosive materials. They will also be required to assist in mine management of the drilling and shot layout process to include shot timing and fragmentation analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current blaster's license
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to safely perform all essential functions of this position
  • Two (2) years minimum of blasting experience in a quarry or mining environment
  • Meet all state and federal requirements to qualify as ATF Explosive possessor (must pass background check)
  • Two (2) years of underground mining experience preferred
  • Physically be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Physically able to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the working day.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Assist with loading and connecting explosives safely
  • Ability to be an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environment
  • Proven record with full cycle mining including, but not limited to drilling, blasting, haulage and ground support
  • Candidate must successfully pass our pre-employment screening.
